SHE LAUGHED!!

This weekend we had a lot of fun as a family! Tyson finally had a weekend off! Yesterday we went to Pueblo to shop and took the truck because we went to pick up a table for one of my co-workers. We shopped all day and went to pick up the table at the end of the day (7:16pm) and found out they closed at 7:00!! I felt SO bad, but my co-worker just laughed. Good thing she is understanding of my stupidity sometimes.

Today we just spent doing nothing. We did not even leave the house, just spent the day watching TV and playing with Kali. I love these type of days!

Just about 30 minutes ago, I gave Kali a bath and she was smiling huge at me in the tub. I started cooing to her and she just full out laughed!! She has been giggling for about 5 weeks now- a giggle, two, or three at a time...but not full out laughing. I started screaming for Tyson to get in there, but I was so excited and screamed so loud it scared Kali. When Tyson got in there, she was laughing just a little, not the laugh I heard though...mean mommy scared her too bad!

This BY FAR is my favorite moment with little Kali...nothing like hearing your child laugh for the first time! How precious! :)

Happy Halloween!!

Kali's first Halloween- she was a pink leopard :) She was so adorable in her little outfit, it almost made me cry. I realized how fast she is growing up and I just wanted my little preemie back!

Before Kali became a little leopard, we had to make her an Arizona Cardinals fan! Grandpa Coco, Kali, and myself all dressed the part. Grandma Brenda was the odd ball out with a Cowboys jersey- but we forgave her.

Coco and Grandma Brenda visit!

Grandpa Coco and Grandma Brenda came to visit us this weekend! They got here Friday night and we went to eat at my dad's favorite Mexican food restaurant here. We ate so much I think we all felt yucky afterwards! :) After making our weekly trip to Walmart we came home and relaxed. We all crashed hard, 10 hours later Kali was roaring to go! Saturday was nice, we just stayed home and enjoyed Kali! We only had 1/2 the trick or treaters that we had last year, so naturally I will be polishing off the candy! haha! We made a huge meal last night- 6 lbs of king crab legs, bacon-chive potatoes, and biscuits. Again- we all ate so much we just crashed! Grandma and Grandpa left today around 9:30. We had a blast!

Milestones- Kali is starting to talk more and more and trying her hardest to giggle. She can giggle once or twice- but not full out laugh yet (she wants to!). She has found her tongue and continues to stick her tongue out at everyone! She tries to sit up with all of her might. She can lift her head up just fine, but does not have the back support yet to sit up on her own. If we help her sit up, she loves that!

Sleeping Beauty!

Last time I posted something, Kali had slept through the night for 2 nights in a row. I am proud to announce that she continued that! Only one night since that last post has she woke up (but I think her tummy was hurting that night!). For the past 2 nights now little Kali has slept 10 hours at a time!! Yes, 10 hours between feedings! Awesome! Tyson and I don't know what the heck to do with all that time! haha. Good girl! :)

Kali Update

So I have not posted anything since the incident of forgetting Kali...and no, not because I forgot to pick her up again and haven't had anything to report on because I still have not picked her up! ha!

Honestly we have found ourselves so BUSY because Kali is getting the age that she is so much fun! She smiles all the time, she is starting to coo a lot and trying to giggle (still working on it).

Last week (Wednesday), Tyson got to stay home with her again because they got snowed out on the mountain for a day. She had a really fun day with daddy! That evening Debbie and Cassie came to town (Tyson's mom and sister) and spent Thursday, Friday, and 1/2 day on Saturday with us! Thankfully they watched her on Thursday and Friday- didn't give me a chance to forget her at daycare!! haha! I might never let that go... :) Debbie and Cassie cooked a home cooked meal for us- which was awesome! It was nice to have family come up and spoil all of us a little! Sunday Tyson, Kali, and I just relaxed and took it easy.

Yesterday morning I was taking Kali out to the car to take her to daycare...I was running late and I heard the dreaded sound of "needing to change a diaper!" I rushed her back inside and in the 2 minutes it took to get her on the changing table, that girl had blown out her diaper. I cleaned her up and got her outfit changed and as I was sliding the new diaper under her, she peed all over my hand/arm. It went everywhere. I again changed her and her outfit. I threw her up against my shoulder and started back to her car seat when she spit up all over my black sweater. Not the best day! Luckily she got everything out BEFORE daycare!

BUT, do not worry, I have great news! The last 2 nights Kali has slept through the night- the whole night!! Last night she slept 7 1/2 hours and would have slept longer but my alarm woke her up. AWESOME!! She is finally starting to become a little woman...I can't wait for all the fun milestones we will reach with her. I couldn't love her anymore!! She is just the PERFECT little addition to our family...

Wait, what daughter??

This is so embarrassing, I can't believe I am sharing this....but it was too dang funny not to share!

Today I was driving home from work, got home, was unpacking the car for probably 5 minutes, and then realized, "What's missing?" I literally stood there for 2 minutes more and couldn't think of anything, so I started walking up to the house...stopped and thought, "CRAP! I forgot Kali!!"

Needless to say, I had to call my daycare lady and admit to forgetting my daughter and that I was on my way! When I got there, the daycare lady laughed so hard! I felt like such a horrible mom...but then I realized my dad probably left us numerous places all the time, he just doesn't admit to it. That's my excuse anyway....

A start of a giggle...

So I'll do a week worth of events leading up to the biggest one. Last blog was about Kali getting her shots. Well surprisingly enough, she never ran a fever and did exceptionally well through last weekend. She did not even seem sore! Me on the other hand had a really sore arm for 3 days! I guess flu shots will do that!

Because Tyson has been working really hard, long hours over the past couple of weeks, his company gave them Thursday and Friday off. No daycare for Kali...it was daddy's time! It cracked me up when Tyson told me on Wednesday, "How hard can it be?" I laughed so hard inside and thought, you just wait.

So Thursday I called (a million times from work) to see how Kali was doing. Tyson sounded like all was under control! They even met me for lunch! Kali was fed, had a new diaper on, and in regular clothes, so I figured he was doing great so far! :)

When I got home that night, Kali was very happy, but nothing was done in the house...so I guess he truly might have thought it was easy! So I put my momma hands on and cleaned up the house while he still played with her. Friday, Tyson took Kali to Salida, CO for the day (about 1 1/2 hours from our house). They went and picked up a lot of meat at the butcher place (Tyson's company gave him a gift card to there). Then he took Kali to his work place (Moltz construction is based in Salida). All the ladies loved up on Kali and even the guys had fun with her! In the mean time, the ladies at my work asked me to go out for ladies night (since they knew Tyson was at home with Kali). I instantly said YES! I was so excited to have a ladies night again...it has been WAY too long!

I called Tyson and told him that I would be home later that night. He didn't seem very happy. Not that he didn't want me to have fun, but he felt that we haven't had a lot of time together lately. Needless to say, I still choose to go to ladies night since I knew Tyson and I would have the weekend together. I had a blast catching up with all my friends! I wanted a margarita SO bad, but I am still nursing, so I decided to get a virgin pina colada. When I took a drink, it tasted like metal...no joke! Not sure what was wrong with it, but I ended up with water that night! I got home and saw that Kali was in different clothes then she started with that day (whoops, blew out another diaper on daddy!). I also noted again that nothing was done in the house! haha!

He sure is good with her, but I do not think he wanted to put her down for a minute to do any chores...he really appreciates his time with her!

That night as I was putting Kali to sleep, I was changing her diaper and she was smiling HUGE at me. I started laughing because it was so perfect. And for the first time, she made a giggle!! It was only one giggle, but it was the start of her learning to laugh! She makes "coos" all the time, but this was so different, it just melted my heart! I woke Tyson up to tell him about it!

Needless to say, ever since that "giggle", she has been doing it more and more! It is always just one giggle, but she is getting the hang of it slowly! AWESOME! Can't wait for her to laugh!

On Saturday we had our family pictures taken. Of course we had our K-State stuff on for most of them! They turned out great! We did not get many pics outdoors because it was SO windy! Kali did great, she didn't cry once and we had her taking pics for 2 hours straight! The photographer had NO personality at all! We actually would have taken more pics, but we couldn't end our session soon enough. The photographer had no props and never suggested anything,so all the pics were our idea.

It has been a great week and this next week we are gearing up for Grandma Debbie and Aunt Cassie to come out on Wednesday night. They are going to watch her on Thursday and Friday and head home sometime on Saturday. We can't wait!!

Shoot us up Dr. Sowards....

So today Kali had her 2 month check-up! She was 22 1/4 inches long and 8 lbs 9 oz! I know that still seems so small, but it is a lot bigger than when she dropped to 4 lbs 10 oz and was only 18 inches long when she was born :)

Dr. Sowards said she was doing great and is gaining the weight just perfect. He said her "alertness" is great and that she responds very well to stimulation for a 2 month old. Then the bad news- she needed a couple of shots for her immunizations. The nurses came in, each with a needle in hand, and held down both legs and gave her a shot in each thigh. My poor baby...I was so close to crying! I just held her so tight. Oddly enough she only cried for about 15 seconds and then she was "over it." Then it was mommy's turn. I had my flu shot and I'll tell you- that BURNED going in. I have not had one for so long I had forgotten that it burns. I made Kali promise to take me out for ice cream later since she did better than me.

So I dropped her off at the daycare with Tylenol just in case she ran a little fever (they said the shots usually do cause a small fever). Then I headed back to work. I was at work for 3 hours when the daycare lady called and said, "Kali won't stop screaming and will not eat. I gave her Tylenol and it didn't help." So I had to run and pick the kiddo up. When I got there, she was asleep and smiled when she heard my voice. **Maybe she was just milking the situation!** haha. That's ok! I didn't mind since it was Friday and I get a couple of more hours with her now! :) She has been sleeping since we got home, we will see how this weekend goes! Dr. Sowards said sometimes the shots will cause fever and/or crying for 2 days....

A week FULL of updates!

So lots have happened in the last week and a half! Kali started to get over her little cold stuff a couple of days after she got it (thank god, that was scary!) Every once in a while she will have the occasional snot and sneezing, but for the most part, it is almost gone!

Tyson found out he has to work the next 3-4 weeks straight (7 days a week). He hasn't been getting home until after 8:00 each night. But this last weekend, he actually had the weekend off so we decided to have a nice weekend away in Colorado Springs. We left on Saturday and went to the hotel to settle in. Kali instantly loved the hotel (she probably knew we were going shopping!) We went to Babies R US right away and spent several hundred dollars on baby stuff...she isn't spoiled at all. While there, Kali starting making the "faces" that we dread. Sure enough, it was time for a diaper change- we could hear it, smell it, and, well you get the point. Tyson decided to take her out to the car to change her while I kept shopping (I just started throwing stuff in there since dad was gone!) It was about 15 minutes or more later when I thought, "Where are those two??" Soon enough Tyson came back with baby in tote...hmmmm, Kali had a new outfit on. In Tyson's words, "She blew out all sides of the diaper!" **Thanks hubby for volunteering for that one!**

Then it was off to the Mall! Kali was wide awake by then. All the noise and bright lights...that girl was in HEAVEN! Her eyes were huge, she was very impressed! But this was mommy's time to shop!! After the mall we went to Joe's Crab Shack and ate about 4 lbs of crab! We ate so much I thought I wasn't going to be keeping it in! By the time we got back to the hotel, we were all beat and slept SO good! We didn't pack Kali's portable crib, so she curled up between us both and loved every minute of it (she got many many kisses throughout the night from mommy and daddy!)

Sunday, before we left CO Springs, we took Kali to Hooters for lunch (Dad's pick...) I was happy she slept through the whole experience as I feared her being awake...I thought the "atmosphere" may make her hungry (HAHA- I hope you all get that joke).

Then Sunday night when we got home I got a horrible migraine late that night and ended up throwing up for what seemed like hours. I still managed to get up twice that night with Kali for a total of 3 hours more and woke up at 5:30 for work. Not sure what was going on with me...but I think the crab finally caught up with me!! Surprisingly I was fine all day Monday!

Then Monday night I had a post-baby, hormonal, thinking thought. I thought, "I have been blonde now for 4 1/2 years...I am ready for a change." So I went to the store and bought a hair kit for "Golden light brown". I thought, that isn't too big of a change from where I am now. So 25 minutes later I am staying in front of Tyson asking, "Does this look right...doesn't it look a little silver to you??"

After drying my hair, I ran to the bathroom to see the damage I had done! My hair had brown (good), blonde (ok), and greenish silver (BAD) color in it!! I was going nuts wondering what the heck to do and how I was going to show my face at work in the morning. Needless to say I was able to pull my hair in a tight bun the next day (so you couldn't see all the hair) and basically stayed in my office all morning. I called one of our clients, a stylist, and begged for her to help. She ended up squeezing me in later that day. They had to dye my hair a dark red first and then go back and put brown in it (dark brown) to get rid of all the silver ash color. In other words, my hair is not golden light brown, it is medium brown with red in it now. Oddly enough, I really like it. ha! Everyone at work loves it and even Dell said he really liked it! Thank God! Poor Kali looked at me a little strange last night when I picked her up, but she quickly realized it was me and gave me a big smile. Not sure if she was happy to see me or just laughing inside on what an idiot her mommy is sometimes.

Today I arrived at work to find that a girl in my department gave her resignation (for this Friday- as in 2 days!) YIKES! Not a fun place to be in right now, but it could have been worse...I could still have silver hair, still throwing up crab, and all 3 of my girls in my department could have quit....so I have a lot to be thankful for! HAHA!

Let's see how this next week plays out...

She's sick!!

Oh no! Kali woke up late Saturday night and could barely breathe. Both nostrils were blocked! Tyson and I took turns staying up with her and sleeping with her sitting up so she wouldn't choke on the gunk. On Sunday, it seemed like it was getting worse, so I called the hospital to talk to the doctor on call, LUCKILY, the doctor on call was Kali's doctor! He said she has a bad cold, but probably nothing more than that. He said she is too young to have a sinus infection because her sinuses are not well enough developed yet to have an infection (she is too young). Didn't know that little fact!

So the little princess is down for the count right now! Probably because of all the drainage, she is not keeping her feedings down well, she has the shakes (but no fever yet), and is having quite of bit of diaper changes. Poor girl, she has stuff coming out of everywhere! ha!

Because she had a rough night last night and is still down for the count, I stayed home with her today. I have a feeling my boss isn't too happy, but little Kali comes before anything and I couldn't send her to daycare like this! Our daycare lady has a 4 month old at home, she said she wouldn't have kept Kali today anyway because she doesn't want her baby to get the gunk.

So I am just babying Kali to death today! She has my full attention, hopefully she will get to feeling better soon! In the mean time, she gets to hang out in her PJ's and stocking cap all day :) Here are a few pics of my little princess, sick and not so happy :(

Kali's first day at daycare, mommy's first day back at work!

Today was my first day back to work and Kali's first day to daycare! I did pretty well except when I put her in her car seat to take her to daycare (I had tears!). When I dropped her off, she just looked at me like, "Where are you going?"

I had a really nice day back to work. It was so nice to see everyone again! I got a lot done, but was dumped on with work...which was good, I was able to stay busy and keep my mind off leaving Kali (sort of).

As soon as 5:00 hit though, I was on the road! I couldn't get to the daycare fast enough! I sure loved her up when I got there and she looked and me and smiled. It just melted my heart :)

Can't wait for the weekend to spend it all with her again! And if any of you were wondering, I only called once to check on her...I was a good girl.

The Princess Hunter....wait, that came out wrong....

So Daddy's co-worker (John) does not believe in anything Pink or Frilly, so he got Kali some camo clothing (yes- these were in the BOY section). Even though our little Princess Kali has no idea what she was wearing today, daddy was VERY happy to see his little hunter in these clothes. Of course, this would be the time we took the most pictures of her! ha! So because my little baby princess GIRL was decked out in BOY camo, I had to make her a little bit more princess!! I painted her toe nails PINK! :) Please do not comment on how horrible of a job I did...I was stupid and painted them while she was still awake and yes, I got more on her toes than her nails! Here are some pics to enjoy. Mommy has been trying SO hard to get little Kali to smile at her (which she "kind of" does, but just for a split second, so you can't really tell). Here daddy walks in and she was ALL smiles for him!

Sleepy Head....YES!

I hope I do not jinx anything by posting this! Last night our little Kali bear fell asleep about 9:30pm and did not wake up to eat until 3:00! After eating, she fell asleep again and did not wake up until 8:00! Maybe we are closer to getting more sleep! Kali has always slept about 2-3 hours anyway, but if I can get up only once a night- NOT a bad thing! :) Especially since I go back to work on Thursday :(

Drive-in

Last night Tyson and I decided we needed a "date" night since he has been putting in a lot of hours at the new job site and because we have not had one since Kali's birth. So we thought about renting a movie or going to a movie. We knew renting a movie was not so much a "date". So we decided to go to a movie but wondered how Kali would do - and what if she got hungry?? So we decided to go to the drive-in movie theater, here in Monte Vista.

So for the first time ever, Kali saw (not really- she slept most of the time) her first drive-in movie! We watched Ice Age 3 because we didn't need her hearing the curse words of a rated R movie. ha, just kidding, that was the only movie playing we had not seen yet. I am sure someday that will be the reason though!

Daddy and Mommy got their little date night in, even if our little princess was in tow. I just was not ready to have someone babysit yet! Come this Thursday, that will all change...I go back to work! I will be a complete mess the minute I drop her off with the childcare lady. I think I will skip the mascara that day...

Being cheap doesn't pay off...

Ok, so anyone that knows me knows that I am NOT cheap! ha! Let me explain...

Until Kali, Tyson and I just bought whatever we wanted and didn't think about the price (I know, horrible!). Now that Kali is around, I have decided it is time to start being a little smarter about things. First off, WHY spend LOTS of money on diapers when all they are good for is catching "stuff" and being thrown away. PLUS, not to mention that little Kal Bear goes through a huge box of diapers in 1 1/2 - 2 weeks!

So yesterday I took Kali out to do a little grocery shopping when I decided to go down the baby aisle. We were in Safeway (kind of like Dillons). So I noticed their brand of diapers called "Mom to Mom" brand. They were on sale for $7.99 a pack, which is only about $2-3 cheaper than the brand I use (Pampers). So I decided, what the heck, lets try them!

I got home and immediately changed Kali's diaper and put on a "Mom to Mom" diaper to test them out. It couldn't have been 15 minutes later when I heard the bomb go off (bomb being Kali's bottom). So I waited a couple of minutes (mom's know that the first bomb is not the last one usually). In the mean time, I had Kali sitting up straight (important to note- she was NOT on her side or hanging upside down). When I got up to change her, I noticed my jeans were now a new color. She had totally blown out ALL sides of that diaper (not just a side...all sides).

Lesson to remember- I will not endorse "Mom to Mom" brand- nor will I be cheap with diapers again. If you find something that works, stick with it! By the way, the sanitary button on the washer is great...thanks Kali.

Labor Day Weekend Fun!

Last week was a VERY long week for us! Wednesday, Sept. 2nd, we headed to KS and drove all the way to Burdett to stay with my dad and Brenda. We had a REALLY nice visit, but the next morning had to head out early to make it to Kansas City in time for Tyrun Flaherty's wedding rehearsal. Tyson was the best man for the wedding. Tyrun is one of Tyson's best friends and they roomed together for a year at K-State. Because we are now on "baby time" we got to our hotel in time to have 30 minutes to get ready for the wedding rehearsal. The next day I spent the day with Kali and Ryan and Becca Zecha who were also in town for the wedding. Tyson had to help Tyrun with stuff, so Becca and I decided to make the most out of our time with Kali and take her to her first MALL! Poor little girl must be a daddy's girl because she slept through the whole experience...mom had to make up for it :)

The wedding was Friday night and went wonderful. We even had Kali "dancing". I don't think she was a fan of that though. Saturday we woke up early and headed out to see Matt, Adraina, Maddie, and Kynzie! They were in town for a Royals game the night before, so we met them at their hotel. Again, we are on "baby time" so we were late! We only got to see them for about 30 minutes, but it was SO much fun! I can't imagine what trouble those 3 girls will be when they grow up! :) I think for punishment Adraina and I will have to take them shopping to learn them a lesson...

Then it was off again to see Tyson's side of the family. We went to Peculiar, MO to visit his Aunt Lori and Uncle Bruce. We also got to see his Uncle Steve, Aunt Barb, cousin Hannah, cousin Sarah and other cousin Sarah :), Bryce (brother) and Sarah (sister-in-law), baby Adam!, Debbie (mom), and Cassie (sister). Wow, hope I didn't forget anyone by accident! Well forgetting everyone all together, all we cared about was getting those two baby cousins together!! ha!

Adam was just perfect and precious...it was so much fun having Kali and him next to each other! They are both the cutest babies ever! :) That night we spent the night in St. Joe, MO with Bryce, Sarah, and Adam. The next day we headed back toward home and stopped in Topeka for a couple of minutes to see one of my best friends Mary and her husband Evan! I think Evan's hands were the size of Kali! Wish we would have gotten a pic of that! ha! Then we headed to Manhattan to gather $300+ of K-State gear for Kali, Tyson, and I :) We met Lisa and Walter McNeil for lunch (some of our good friends for years). It was SO nice to see them and show Kali off...like she is a trophy or something? ha!

Then it was back to Larned to visit grandpa Bob one last time before heading back to CO. Even though it was a FAST visit, Kali loved every minute of it! Then it was to Burdett to see Grandpa Coco and Grandma Brenda for a quick minute (Grandma Brenda had to give Kali the CUTE clothes she bought for her that weekend).
We made it to Garden City that night and spent the night before heading out Monday morning to drive the rest of the way home to Monte Vista. I am SO glad to be home and I think Kali and Tyson were too! No more traveling for a long time...lets hope!

My Brain Fart...

So today I went in to my blog to post the last update on Kali, but I could NOT get into my blog. I had a moment of terror and thought maybe the blog was gone! Every time I kept clicking on the link, it kept taking me to my sister-in-law's blog. I clicked on the link about 100 times before I realized I was in fact clicking on my sister-in-law's link and NOT mine. The beginning of their link is "holo", short for Holopirek. For some reason, I thought I was still a Holopirek today! :) After realizing that I could not get in that way, I clicked on the KEAST family blog, duh!

She almost got me!

Yesterday I was changing Kali's diaper and when I went to wipe her, she started peeing. For some reason Kali felt the need to PUSH while doing this. I do not know how this is possible, but she almost got me in the face! It literally was a 6 inch stream aimed for my face. Luckily it missed me, but unluckily- it went everywhere! It stopped me dead in my steps because I was in awe of how she was doing it...

I secretly wished a boy for her first born someday, if you know what I mean.

Kali's Dr. Appointment and wine tasting (just kidding)...

So yesterday I was putting lotion on Kali when I noticed a lump under her right breast. It is quite a large lump so it really scared me. As a first time mommy, I was almost ready to head to the ER to have her examined. BUT, thank goodness my mother-in-law and step-mom brought me back to earth and told me to just wait and take her in tomorrow (today).

I took Kali in and her doctor said the lump is quite common in little girls when they are just a couple of weeks old. It is her breast duct enlarged due to the increased levels of hormones from birth. They said it will go away soon and return when she hits puberty.

This really put my mind at ease...given my mother's history with breast cancer. I was just glad it wasn't anything to be concerned about!

She also has each tear duct in each eye blocked. Another very common thing for babies. Basically when Kali cries, her eyes goober up afterwards. They said some babies tear ducts are blocked for months and months and some have to have a surgery to "unblock" them. Hopefully Kali's will clear up on their own!

Dr. Sowards also weighed her, and Kali is up to 6 lbs and 8 oz!! I know that still seems very tiny, but my poor baby dropped down to 4 lbs 12 oz after she was born, so 6 lbs 8 oz seems like a PIG to me! :) I call her my chunky monkey (even though she is quite tiny still) ha!

After her baby appointment, mommy had to go rent a storage unit for Tyson's belongings from Nebraska (I wouldn't let him just pile it up in our garage!) The nicest storage units in our area, the owners also own the liquor store next door. In order to get a unit, you have to apply for one at the liquor store. So, here I am, dragging a 1 month old baby into a liquor store! I felt SO awkward taking Kali in there! Once we were inside, she was fully awake and when I looked down at her while filling out paperwork, she was LICKING her lips looking at the display of wine! ha! I guess in 21 years, I will take her out for her FIRST taste of wine :) It better be her FIRST taste....

More Pics!

So our baby is growing each day and learning new "skills." When we lay her on her play mat for "tummy time" she tries to crawl already. She has the whole leg thing down, but not the arm thing! It is so funny to watch her try and she ends up getting so mad at herself we have to comfort her and tell her, "It's ok, you really are not ready to crawl...maybe in 4 more months kiddo." :)

Kali overall has been a great baby, but she does not smile very often yet on her own, only when she fills a diaper! Lately, she is giving us a couple of more smiles on her own, which makes us feel like we are starting to finally entertain her! :)

She is also holding her head by herself pretty well now...still has a way to go for daddy to feel 100% comfortable yet.
