So I have not posted anything since the incident of forgetting Kali...and no, not because I forgot to pick her up again and haven't had anything to report on because I still have not picked her up! ha!
Honestly we have found ourselves so BUSY because Kali is getting the age that she is so much fun! She smiles all the time, she is starting to coo a lot and trying to giggle (still working on it).
Last week (Wednesday), Tyson got to stay home with her again because they got snowed out on the mountain for a day. She had a really fun day with daddy! That evening Debbie and Cassie came to town (Tyson's mom and sister) and spent Thursday, Friday, and 1/2 day on Saturday with us! Thankfully they watched her on Thursday and Friday- didn't give me a chance to forget her at daycare!! haha! I might never let that go... :) Debbie and Cassie cooked a home cooked meal for us- which was awesome! It was nice to have family come up and spoil all of us a little! Sunday Tyson, Kali, and I just relaxed and took it easy.
Yesterday morning I was taking Kali out to the car to take her to daycare...I was running late and I heard the dreaded sound of "needing to change a diaper!" I rushed her back inside and in the 2 minutes it took to get her on the changing table, that girl had blown out her diaper. I cleaned her up and got her outfit changed and as I was sliding the new diaper under her, she peed all over my hand/arm. It went everywhere. I again changed her and her outfit. I threw her up against my shoulder and started back to her car seat when she spit up all over my black sweater. Not the best day! Luckily she got everything out BEFORE daycare!
BUT, do not worry, I have great news! The last 2 nights Kali has slept through the night- the whole night!! Last night she slept 7 1/2 hours and would have slept longer but my alarm woke her up. AWESOME!! She is finally starting to become a little woman...I can't wait for all the fun milestones we will reach with her. I couldn't love her anymore!! She is just the PERFECT little addition to our family...

Wait, what daughter??
This is so embarrassing, I can't believe I am sharing this....but it was too dang funny not to share!
Today I was driving home from work, got home, was unpacking the car for probably 5 minutes, and then realized, "What's missing?" I literally stood there for 2 minutes more and couldn't think of anything, so I started walking up to the house...stopped and thought, "CRAP! I forgot Kali!!"
Needless to say, I had to call my daycare lady and admit to forgetting my daughter and that I was on my way! When I got there, the daycare lady laughed so hard! I felt like such a horrible mom...but then I realized my dad probably left us numerous places all the time, he just doesn't admit to it. That's my excuse anyway....

A start of a giggle...
So I'll do a week worth of events leading up to the biggest one. Last blog was about Kali getting her shots. Well surprisingly enough, she never ran a fever and did exceptionally well through last weekend. She did not even seem sore! Me on the other hand had a really sore arm for 3 days! I guess flu shots will do that!
Because Tyson has been working really hard, long hours over the past couple of weeks, his company gave them Thursday and Friday off. No daycare for Kali...it was daddy's time! It cracked me up when Tyson told me on Wednesday, "How hard can it be?" I laughed so hard inside and thought, you just wait.
So Thursday I called (a million times from work) to see how Kali was doing. Tyson sounded like all was under control! They even met me for lunch! Kali was fed, had a new diaper on, and in regular clothes, so I figured he was doing great so far! :)
When I got home that night, Kali was very happy, but nothing was done in the house...so I guess he truly might have thought it was easy! So I put my momma hands on and cleaned up the house while he still played with her. Friday, Tyson took Kali to Salida, CO for the day (about 1 1/2 hours from our house). They went and picked up a lot of meat at the butcher place (Tyson's company gave him a gift card to there). Then he took Kali to his work place (Moltz construction is based in Salida). All the ladies loved up on Kali and even the guys had fun with her! In the mean time, the ladies at my work asked me to go out for ladies night (since they knew Tyson was at home with Kali). I instantly said YES! I was so excited to have a ladies night again...it has been WAY too long!
I called Tyson and told him that I would be home later that night. He didn't seem very happy. Not that he didn't want me to have fun, but he felt that we haven't had a lot of time together lately. Needless to say, I still choose to go to ladies night since I knew Tyson and I would have the weekend together. I had a blast catching up with all my friends! I wanted a margarita SO bad, but I am still nursing, so I decided to get a virgin pina colada. When I took a drink, it tasted like metal...no joke! Not sure what was wrong with it, but I ended up with water that night! I got home and saw that Kali was in different clothes then she started with that day (whoops, blew out another diaper on daddy!). I also noted again that nothing was done in the house! haha!
He sure is good with her, but I do not think he wanted to put her down for a minute to do any chores...he really appreciates his time with her!
That night as I was putting Kali to sleep, I was changing her diaper and she was smiling HUGE at me. I started laughing because it was so perfect. And for the first time, she made a giggle!! It was only one giggle, but it was the start of her learning to laugh! She makes "coos" all the time, but this was so different, it just melted my heart! I woke Tyson up to tell him about it!
Needless to say, ever since that "giggle", she has been doing it more and more! It is always just one giggle, but she is getting the hang of it slowly! AWESOME! Can't wait for her to laugh!
On Saturday we had our family pictures taken. Of course we had our K-State stuff on for most of them! They turned out great! We did not get many pics outdoors because it was SO windy! Kali did great, she didn't cry once and we had her taking pics for 2 hours straight! The photographer had NO personality at all! We actually would have taken more pics, but we couldn't end our session soon enough. The photographer had no props and never suggested anything,so all the pics were our idea.
It has been a great week and this next week we are gearing up for Grandma Debbie and Aunt Cassie to come out on Wednesday night. They are going to watch her on Thursday and Friday and head home sometime on Saturday. We can't wait!!

Shoot us up Dr. Sowards....
So today Kali had her 2 month check-up! She was 22 1/4 inches long and 8 lbs 9 oz! I know that still seems so small, but it is a lot bigger than when she dropped to 4 lbs 10 oz and was only 18 inches long when she was born :)
Dr. Sowards said she was doing great and is gaining the weight just perfect. He said her "alertness" is great and that she responds very well to stimulation for a 2 month old. Then the bad news- she needed a couple of shots for her immunizations. The nurses came in, each with a needle in hand, and held down both legs and gave her a shot in each thigh. My poor baby...I was so close to crying! I just held her so tight. Oddly enough she only cried for about 15 seconds and then she was "over it." Then it was mommy's turn. I had my flu shot and I'll tell you- that BURNED going in. I have not had one for so long I had forgotten that it burns. I made Kali promise to take me out for ice cream later since she did better than me.
So I dropped her off at the daycare with Tylenol just in case she ran a little fever (they said the shots usually do cause a small fever). Then I headed back to work. I was at work for 3 hours when the daycare lady called and said, "Kali won't stop screaming and will not eat. I gave her Tylenol and it didn't help." So I had to run and pick the kiddo up. When I got there, she was asleep and smiled when she heard my voice. **Maybe she was just milking the situation!** haha. That's ok! I didn't mind since it was Friday and I get a couple of more hours with her now! :) She has been sleeping since we got home, we will see how this weekend goes! Dr. Sowards said sometimes the shots will cause fever and/or crying for 2 days....
